City of West University Place issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.
West University Elementary School (WUES) is participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring from January 27 – 31 collecting canned goods for the Houston Food Bank.
The Houston Food Bank feeds 800,000 individuals in 18 counties around the Houston area and West U is proud to support their efforts every year! Last year, WUES donated 46,639 pounds of food (the most of any school in the nation!), which equates to 54,767 meals for children, families, and senior citizens.
Want to help, but don’t have any students at West University Elementary? You can drop off canned goods in the food bins at one of the following West U locations:
Location 1
West University Place Recreation Center 4210 Bellaire Blvd. Hours
|
Location 2
West University Place City Hall 3800 University Blvd. Hours

The most needed items from the Food Bank are protein items (tuna fish, peanut butter). Please remember NO GLASS jars or individual serving pouches.
