HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT: Graduation Ceremony Schedule, Venue Information Available For Class of 2020

Graduate

Houston Independent School District issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.

Thousands of HISD seniors will walk across the stage this spring during graduation ceremonies planned for May 29 through June 7.

Most ceremonies will take place at various locations around the city (primarily the Barnett Fieldhouse, Butler Fieldhouse, Delmar Fieldhouse, NRG Arena, NRG Stadium, Texas Southern University campus).

A few will be taking place early (HSPVA and E-STEM on May 23 and May 28, respectively) or later (Liberty HS on June 7), so be sure to check the schedule for times and locations at HoustonISD.org/GraduationCalendar.

Parking

For ceremonies held at NRG Arena and NRG Stadium, parking in surrounding lots will be $12 per vehicle. Cash is the preferred method of payment. For a map of the lots surrounding the NRG complex, click here.

Parking for ceremonies at Texas Southern University will be $5 per vehicle, and cash is preferred.

Venue rules

Some important considerations for all venues include:

  • No flowers, balloons, banners, signs, noise makers, food or drinks will be allowed into the venue. If water is needed for medical reasons, HISD officers should be notified.
  • Students should only enter with cap and gown.
  • No cell phones or other electronic devices will be allowed on the venue floor by students.
  • The doors will open one hour prior to the graduation ceremony time.
