City of West University Place issued the following announcement on Feb 26.
West U’s Water Distribution system remains fully operational with no issues. Our pressure remains at normal operating range and all residuals are at or above regulatory limits. As a additional precaution, we have isolated our water system and have shut down all surface water coming in from Houston for the next 24 hours and are producing water from our water wells. This will have little to no effect on water quality and taste.
It is NOT necessary to boil water in the City of West University Place.
Staff will continue to monitor the water distribution system and send out notifications should they be needed.
