Waller County has launched an emergency medical services delivery program for residents who are home-bound due to the coronavirus quarantine.
The emergency services delivery program was launched last weekend and will remain open through at least March 27. Leading the program in a team effort is the Waller County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office, who hope to help county residents who have been forced to remain home due to these unfortunate circumstances.
“We realize people are not able to get out. They’re isolated or quarantined,” Waller County Deputy Chief Manuel Zamora said. “We certainly want them to access basic necessities.”
Chief Zamora said that deputies on reserve will pick up and deliver medicine, medical equipment and food to anybody who is ill, stuck in bed or can't leave the house.
Deputies are available Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The sheriff's office is open 24 hours, seven days a week. Contact the communications center at 979-826-8282 for more details.
