CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE: Show Your Support for Public Works Week - May 17 - 23

Publicworks

City Of West University Place issued the following announcement on May 18.

Per Council proclamation, May 17-23, 2020 is recognized as Public Works Week.  Please join us in honoring all of the City’s Public Works Employees and Staff by showing support and tying an ORANGE ribbon around your tree.

"On behalf of the West University Place Recycling and Solid Waste Reduction Board, we extend our appreciation to the City’s Public Works Employees and Staff for the excellent job they have been doing during these unprecedented times. As most of us are currently working from home, we have been witness to the daily services that are done by the City every day. More often times than not, we as residents of West U take for granted, without regard to how it happens; clean water flowing from our faucets, the collection of trash and recycling, the maintenance of our roads, and ensuring that our toilets flush. Public Works is often forgot when we speak of First Responders. It is important that we appreciate the work done by staff, who are also on the front lines and taking extraordinary precautions to protect the health and safety of the public." - Orval Marlow, Recycling and Solid Waste Reduction Board Chair -

Snap a photo of your ribbons and/or submit a photo of Public Works staff in action and tag us with the hastag #ispyWUPW on Facebook: (www.facebook.com/CityofWestUniversityPlaceTx)
