The Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority board of directors will convene its budget meeting this month.
On the docket are the Northpark Drive Overpass Project; the Kingwood Drive and Woodland Hills Drive intersection improvements; and the Mills Branch Drive Reconstruction Project. All of these will be modified in the budget.
Among these, the Northpark Drive Overpass Project experienced a spike in costs, according to Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 10 administrator Ralph De Leon. The project, which is scheduled to break ground next year, now costs $46.6 million, a $6.7 million jump.
The second phase of the Northpark Drive project, known as the Northpark Drive Reconstruction Project, also saw a cost increase. DeLeon told Community Impact Newspaper that inflation played a role in the jump.
Intersection improvements will cost the Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority $13.1 million as a result of a hike attributed to extensive drainage work needed.
