Houston Independent School District issued the following announcement on June 1.
HISD hereby notifies all private nonprofit school administrators to contact the district immediately regarding assistance that your school may be eligible to receive. The assistance is from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for help and support with allowable pandemic-related expenses, provided your school is physically located within HISD attendance boundaries. Please contact Carla Lewis, HISD Grants Administrator, External Funding Department at cholmes2@houstonisd.org if interested in participating with HISD as a recipient of equitable services under the CARES Act. The deadline to respond is Thursday, June 4, 2020.
