HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT: Utilizes Highway Billboards To Promote District’s Reopening Plan

Houston Independent School District issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.

HISD is hitting the highways around the city to promote the district’s Reconnect Safely, Return Strong reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

Four billboards have been posted around town on some of Houston’s most heavily traveled roadways, including:

610 South at Beechnut

I-45 at Fugate

I-69 South at Westpark

I-45 at Park Place

All HISD students will begin the 2020-2021 school year virtually on Sept. 8. Virtual instruction for all students will continue for six weeks through Friday, Oct. 16. On Monday, Oct. 19, face-to-face instruction for students will begin. This date is subject to change based on COVID-19 conditions across the City of Houston and guidance from local, state, and federal health officials.
