SHELDON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT: Virtual Classes On Wednesday, September 23

Videocall

Sheldon Independent School District issued the following announcement on Sept. 21.

We hope everyone has stayed safe today. We have continued to monitor weather reports from local officials. More rain and the potential of flash flooding is expected this evening and overnight in our East Harris County area. Because of this, we have made the decision to operate remotely tomorrow. We will still have virtual classes tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23. We understand we could face technical challenges tomorrow. Please know we are allowing everyone grace as we navigate through this time together. If students cannot log in, we will excuse absences.

Operations for Wednesday, September 23

Virtual classes continue.

Curbside meal service provided as scheduled.

Help Desk available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 832-460-5005 or email at helpdesk@apps.sheldonisd.com

Deadline to declare a learning preference for your child (Sheldon On Site or Sheldon On Demand) is Wednesday at 5 p.m.

No transportation for students taking classes at San Jacinto Community College as classes are virtual.

We anticipate that after-school activities and athletic events will continue as planned tomorrow afternoon and evening as the weather officials expect it to be cleared up by noon.

Should the weather worsen overnight, our operations could change due to the impact of catastrophic flooding. Please follow updates on our website and social media accounts. Thank you and stay safe.
