The Woodlands Township Board of Directors has proclaimed Nov. 28 to be Small Business Saturday.

According to a news release, township officials emphasized providing support and recognition of local small businesses, especially during a year that has presented challenges due to shutdowns and reduced operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The board began the meeting by proclaiming Nov. 11 as Veterans Day in The Woodlands and Nov. 14 as The Woodlands Recycles Day to help raise recycling awareness.

On the Consent Agenda, the board approved the annual Service Agreement with The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership; approved the annual Service Agreements with the Village Associations; and approved Easement Agreements with San Jacinto River Authority for Sanitary Sewer Lift Station No. 13.

Chairman Gordy Bunch provided a Harris County COVID-19 update. General bed usage was at 5.9%, ICU bed usage was at 12.8%, and the Hospital/COVID Census was at 6.8%. Bunch also said free mobile COVID-19 testing services by Curative Inc. are available at Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

Finally, the board also accepted reports from Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 3, and a presentation on recent Subsidence District activities from the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District.
