WASHINGTON, D.C.– On July 14, Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) released a statement after voting in favor of H.R. 2670, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024. This legislation authorizes appropriations for FY24 for military activities of the Department of Defense (DOD).

“I am proud to vote YES for the NDAA, which pushes back on the woke ideology being forced on our servicemembers by the Biden Administration and the radical Left, and vote in favor of strengthening our national defense to counter our greatest foreign adversary, the Communist Chinese Party (CCP),” said Congressman Nehls. “This legislation saves taxpayers $40 billion, all while increasing oversight and demanding accountability from the Biden Administration. It is the duty of Congress to provide for the defense of the United States and ensure that our service men and women are equipped to protect our country—not push to advance the woke agenda of the Left. As a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, I am pleased that this bill will provide a pathway back to service for the 8,000 servicemembers discharged for not taking the COVID-19 vaccine, continue to support our nation’s servicemembers and their families, and provides funds to strengthen strategic deterrence, missile defense, and hypersonic capabilities.”
