Harris County Attorney Vince Ryanhas has entered into the ongoing battle over recent changes to the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Ryan signed onto a friend of the court brief related to a lawsuit seeking to halt the changes to the USPS. Opponents allege the changes could have a negative impact on the November Election, according to Ryan’s office.

The brief has been joined by approximately 30 local and tribal governments lending their support to the lawsuit that was filed by a group of states attorneys. The goal is to have an injunction put in place to halt the changes.

“By slowing mail delivery and reducing the availability of mail services in certain areas, these changes hamper local governments’ ability to execute their core governmental functions at a time when communities need services more than ever,” the brief said.
